ICPSR Supports LGBTQI+ Data Inclusion Act

ICPSR signs on to the LGBTQI+ Data Inclusion ActICPSR has joined a group of 90 organizations that support the passage of the LGBTQI+ Data Inclusion Act, expected to be reintroduced during the 118th Congress in June 2023. The LGBTQI+ Data Inclusion Act would facilitate the collection of voluntary, self-disclosed demographic data on sexual orientation, gender identity, and variations in sex characteristics across federal surveys, while maintaining necessary confidentiality and privacy standards that govern federal statistics. The ICPSR Summer Program in Quantiatitve Method’s 3-Week Sessions have everything you need to start, re-start, or continue your methods training. With our flexible scheduling, your time is your own! We put the dates of our program front and center, but anyone registered in a Short Workshop or 3-Week Session this summer has all the materials available through December 31, 2023. Available in-person or online! Take it live, take it later, you have six months to make the program your own.

The final day of First Session registration is Monday, June 12.

Participants in the Second Session, or Short Workshops from July 10-15, can book housing right on campus at the University of Michigan and save 10% on registration. Affordable, reliable, and great for connecting with your peers.

Any department or program that sends four or more participants qualifies for additional discounts on total registration fees, up to 25% off!

Celebrating Juneteenth With Data & Resources From ICPSR

Juneteenth - Celebrate Freedom - June 19

June 19, 2023, marks 158 years since, “two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln’s historic Emancipation Proclamation, U.S. Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3, which informed the people of Texas that all enslaved people were now free.” (National Archives). As we remember the first Juneteenth, ICPSR explores some of the data and resources that preserve the history and experiences of former slaves and their descendants.
