Data from U.S. 2020 Presidential Election Facebook and Instagram Study Now Available at ICPSR

The Social Media Archive (SOMAR) at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research has released data focusing on the impact of Facebook and Instagram on key political attitudes during the U.S. 2020 elections. The U.S. 2020 Facebook and Instagram Election Study is a partnership between Meta researchers and independent external academics. This research offers new insights and perspectives into some of the most important questions around the role of social media in democracy today: Does social media make us more polarized as a society, or merely reflect the divisions that already exist? Faces of ICPSR: Sandra Tang

Meet ICPSR's Sanda Tang

As an Assistant Researcher at ICPSR, Sandra Tang helps develop, manage, and analyze social science data and conducts related research.

Q: What makes ICPSR a great place to work?
A: As cliché as it sounds, the people are what make ICPSR a great place to work. My ICPSR colleagues are not only smart and creative, but also kind and generous in sharing their time and knowledge with others. I also really appreciate how often I see leadership and colleagues acknowledging each other’s work and celebrating wins across the organization. It’s great to work in such a collaborative and supportive environment.
