  • NASA's University Leadership Initiative (ULI) has selected 4 proposals to explore aeronautical research areas such as Safe, Efficient Growth in Global Operations; Safe, Quiet, and Affordable Vertical Lift Air Vehicles; In-Time System-Wide Safety assurance; and Zero Emissions Aviation (https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-names-university-teams-to-take-on-aeronautics-research-challenges) ULI provides the opportunity for university teams to exercise technical and organizational leadership in proposing unique technical challenges in aeronautics, defining multi-disciplinary solutions, establishing peer review mechanisms, and applying innovative teaming strategies to strengthen the research impact. ULI provides students with valuable experience trying to solve real-world technical challenges.
