(Rackham) Self-Care Paradox: Circle for Parents and Caregivers

When we are the primary caregivers for children or others in our lives, it can present barriers for our own self-care, even in the face of knowing that our self-care is critical in order to care for others. Thus the paradox. Please join this virtual discussion with others who are facing this paradox, amplified in a pandemic.

The format of the event will model the Restorative Circle process. A circle is a versatile restorative practice that can be used proactively, to develop relationships and build community or reactively, to respond to wrongdoing, conflicts, and problems. Circles give people an opportunity to speak and listen to one another in an atmosphere of safety, decorum and equality. The circle process allows people to tell their stories, offer their own perspectives, and provides an opportunity for information exchange and relationship development. Staff from Rackham and Wolverine Wellness will be present to facilitate the conversation and to share resources.
