Data-Related Publications

How to Search

• You are searching the Bibliography’s citations database. Only the citation elements of the data-related publications are indexed, not the full text.
• While this search yields fewer results, the results are relevant. If a word is important enough to appear in the citation, e.g., in an article’s title, then it is likely the publication will have significant content using that word or concept.
• Instead of entering a research question, use only one or two search words, and use the filters to narrow your results.
• Use quotes for phrase searches; use the minus sign to remove items from results: "drug abuse" -adolescent
• A Boolean "and" is invoked with multiple search terms.
• Stemming is automatic; do not use an asterisk.
• Search is not case-sensitive.

Search Results

• Your search results will appear in the “Data-related Publications” tab. Bibliography search results are citations to publications, displayed with links to the studies used in those publications.
• Search results can be sorted in six ways, including by newest publication date. 
• Links out to the full text of the publications are provided when available, and you can export each citation in RIS, EndNote, and CSV formats.
• Search results coming from the Bibliography’s database can be filtered, using these facets: publication year, publication type, journal title, author, and study being linked to from each citation. 
• All individual study home pages and series home pages also have a “Data-related Publications” tab where all of the publications ICPSR has collected for that study or series are listed. You can search within those results by typing a term in the tab’s search box, or you can click on the “more options” link in the tab to see that study or series’ data-related publications displayed with sort, export and filtering options.
