ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- In conjunction with the Big Ten, the University of Michigan men's and women's basketball programs released Wednesday (April 17) its respective opponent breakdowns for the 2019-20 conference schedule.

In the newly expanded 20-game schedule on the men's side, the Wolverines finished 15-5 and in third place in the conference race. Once again, the conference will play two early conference games -- one home, one away -- during the Big Ten Football Championship weekend, Dec. 6-8. The remaining 18-game schedule will begin after the New Year.

Continuing with its protected rivalry game, U-M will play a pair of games against Michigan State. Additional home-and-home series will be with Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue and Rutgers. U-M's three home single games will be against Indiana, Penn State and Wisconsin while the away singles will be at Maryland, Minnesota and Northwestern.

The women's conference slate will also remain at 18 games for the upcoming season. With the Big Ten season beginning after the Christmas holiday, the Wolverines, who were 11-7 last season, are scheduled for home-and-home series with Maryland, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State and Rutgers.

Single home-game matchups for the women include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Purdue with road singles at Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

The men's Big Ten Tournament returns to Indianapolis, Indiana, and Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Wednesday through Sunday, March 11-15, while the women's conference tournament stays in Indianapolis, Wednesday through Sunday, March 4-8.
